Chemical Peels

Get Brighter, Smoother Skin with a Chemical Peel

A chemical peel is a skin treatment where an acid solution is applied to the surface of the skin. The acid removes the top layer of the skin that contains dead skin cells and stimulates the growth of new skin cells. This reveals the smoother, brighter skin underneath. The aim of a chemical peel is to exfoliate the top layer of the skin to reveal more even, brighter-looking skin. We offer chemical peel Ottawa to help you look your best!

Chemical peels can treat a wide range of skin concerns including:

Try Adding Chemical Peels to Your Skin Care Arsenal

Chemical peels are used to exfoliate the top layer of the skin and stimulate the growth of new skin cells. This means they can be used to treat many superficial concerns related to uneven skin tone and the appearance of pigmentation or scarring. If you have questions about whether a skin concern can be treated with chemical peels, book a consultation to learn more.

Before and After

First time getting a Chemical Peel Skin Treatment?

1

Before your appointment

Before your chemical peel, you’ll come in for a consultation. We’ll ask you questions about your medical history and determine your eligibility for treatment. Based on your skin concerns, we’ll be able to recommend the best treatment plan and chemical peel type for your skin. We’ll answer any questions you may have about the treatment and schedule a date for your appointment.
2

On the day of your treatment

On the day of your chemical peel we ask that you arrive with clean skin so please avoid wearing any makeup or skincare products. We’ll start your treatment by cleansing the skin to remove any excess oils or dirt. Then, we’ll apply the active acid ingredient for your chemical peel. We’ll leave the solution on until it has saturated the skin before removing it with a neutralizing agent. The entire process should take between 20-30 minutes.
3

During the treatment

After your chemical peel, it’s extremely important to wear SPF to protect your exfoliated skin from the sun. You’ll also want to keep your skin moisturized and hydrated to ensure proper healing. It’s normal for your skin to lightly peel after treatment, it means the dead skin cells on the upper layer of your skin are being removed to reveal the newer skin cells beneath. With a superficial peel you can expect to peel for two-three days, and with a stronger medium peel it can last for up to a week.
