Sculptra® is a gel-like substance made of poly-L-lactic acid. This unique dermal filler is injected into the skin to give it a smoother, fuller appearance. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is a stimulating product that encourages your body to naturally produce more collagen. Sculptra® Injections is used to restore volume to the area treated, and can be used on several different body parts, especially to restore volume and a youthful, refreshed appearance to the face.

Is Sculptra® Right For You?

Before your appointment

We’ll start the process with a consultation to learn more about your medical history and what concern you’re looking to have treated with Sculptra®. We’ll answer any questions you have and determine your eligibility for treatment. We’ll also discuss your treatment plan. This treatment is generally administered in 3-4 doses spread several months apart. At your consultation we’ll create a customized treatment schedule for you.

On the day of your treatment

When you come in for your first treatment, we’ll prepare the areas being treated for injection. This will involve cleaning the skin and marking the injection sites, and applying a topical anaesthetic if requested by the client.

During the treatment

Treatment time will depend on the size of the area treated. It will typically take only a few minutes and will be virtually pain-free. With Sculptra® you can expect to experience mild side effects after treatment such as bruising, tenderness, injection site pain or slight bleeding. We’ll make sure to provide you with post-treatment instructions for best results. You’ll start to see results immediately after your treatment. As this cosmetic injectables treatment stimulates your body’s natural collagen production, you’ll continue to see improvements in your skin’s volume and elasticity for several weeks after treatment.

It’s advised to avoid straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise as well as sun or heat exposure, or drinking alcoholic beverages for 24 hours post-treatment. We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before having any other aesthetic treatments. You can use ice packs to reduce swelling on the injected areas after treatment.
