You can return to your daily routine immediately after treatment, with the exception of avoiding sun exposure. You’ll have to ensure the treated area is not exposed to direct sunlight for 4-6 weeks, and for scars on the face we will recommend avoiding makeup for several days after treatment. You can apply a cool cloth to the area if you’re experiencing any swelling or discomfort after treatment.
Results will depend on the severity and condition of the scar. Most scars will need multiple treatment sessions so results will gradually appear over time. Essentially, laser scar revision replaces an old scar with a newer, less noticeable scar so it will be a gradual process. The results are long-lasting, but may not be permanent and may need touch-ups in the years to come.
