Before your appointment

Before any KYBELLA® treatments, we’ll start with a complimentary consultation. This will give us an opportunity to learn more about your medical history, examine the chin area and answer any questions you may have about your injectables treatment. Once we’ve examined the treatment area, we’ll be able to inform you how many sessions are required to produce your desired results. Most patients require between 1-6 treatments, spaced approximately six to eight weeks apart. After you’ve completed your initial treatments, your results will last a lifetime.

On the day of your treatment

On the day of your KYBELLA® appointment, we’ll walk you through the process and cleanse and mark the chin area for injection. If you’re nervous about experiencing any pain, there's no need to worry – we’ll ensure to provide you with an appropriate pain management solution. The KYBELLA® treatment will only take between 15-20 minutes.

During the treatment

After treatment, we’ll provide you with care instructions to ensure you heal quickly. Possible mild side effects from your KYBELLA® treatment include bruising, swelling, and tenderness at the injection site. These are not cause for concern. After the treatment is completed, we’ll book your next appointment date. You’ll start to see results in the first few weeks after treatment but the most noticeable results will appear after 6 weeks.

After your KYBELLA® treatment, it’s recommended to avoid any heavy exercise or strenuous activities for 24 hours. You should also avoid extreme temperatures for up to 24 hours (such as heat from hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms). To minimize swelling, cut out alcohol and sodium for 72 hours after treatment, and try to sleep on your back with your head elevated. 

Always consult with your injector to find out whether treatments can be combined. KYBELLA® can be combined with other treatments such as neuromodulators like Botox. We can recommend the best treatment scheduling for combining treatments.

KYBELLA® injections are relatively painless. You may feel some discomfort during the injection but we can offer a pain management solution if you are feeling nervous.
